Starting a New Conversation

I had my first website built in 1995 when I realized I needed an online presence to promote my consulting company.  Before that, I relied on business cards and brochures.  My first website is no longer in existence but here is a link to the last one I had, before changing my career and becoming a full time artist.

I realized then, as I do now, that a website is not something that can remain static, like a brochure, but must change almost every week and in order to do that, and do it economically, you need to do it yourself.

Luckily, there are many websites that offer this service (wix, squarespace, wordpress) and even some that are built just to support artists like FASO.  

I'm a kind of "cut and paste" person (not great at writing code or even using plug-ins)  and when my wordpress developer went on to bigger and better things, I knew I needed to take over and learn how to manage my own site.  Not my first choice but given my budget, the necessary choice.

My good friend, Judith, convinced me to try her provider, Weebly.  And, after doing a few pages, I realized she was totally right.  So easy!  (Well, it helps a lot to have a friend to call who says, do this and do that!)

​So this is my first blog on my new website.  I'm still on a learning curve so if something isn't working or you are frustrated finding information, please let me know.  I will try to fix it!
