I want to make some more pieces using text but thought I would stitch on commercial fabric instead of piecing the background. No only would this save me a lot of time, but it would give me a lot more flexibility as to the finished size of my work. I need to make smaller pieces so I can submit them to exhibits where most limit the size to 60" or less.
Sp I spent hours searching the Internet and fabric manufacturers for exactly what I had in mind. And found nothing even close. As you probably know, I've been spending time with watercolor and decided to try to make what I wanted and send it to a fabric printing company (Spoonflower) to see if that would be a good solution for me. I really like the idea of stitching on my own art! I expect to receive the fabric in a couple of weeks so I'll let you know how that goes. Meanwhile, I'm spending some more time creating variations on this theme since if it works, I'll be creating a new body of work using my own designs as background.
