Envelope Notebook

I find making books/booklets addictive.

I love using beautiful papers and fabrics and also using up stuff from my stash and turning ordinary things into small art treasures.

My latest passion is making these envelope notebooks.  These are made from envelopes, covered with papers.  I did download some papers used in this video but ended up using all my gelli printed pages for the rest.  I don't usually use other artist's work in my work so I'm much happier with the results from the ones I'm working on now (all the journals in the back of the first two pieces).  But they are all "in process" so I thought I would show you the two in the front that were my first attempts.  I probably won't "embellish" these to the extent Luise does (see her second video) because my esthetic is different than hers but she does give some interesting ideas on how to make these envelope journals even more interesting.

I learned this process from Luise Heinzl, a German junk journal artist. She publishes her YouTube videos in German and English.  I am always in awe of of people who speak several languages since I failed both Spanish and French in high school.  

These make great gifts for your friends and family AND are fun to make!
