I finally found an instructor that could teach me to draw and I think it's because we share the same philosophy about not worrying about making mistakes and not to try to be perfect. He helps me to simplify my lines (especially when drawing people) but I think I need to simplify even more when rendering buildings.
But, I am having FUN! And that's the point!
His name is James Richards and he teaches "Sketching the Energy of Places" on www.Craftsy.com. Here is my affiliate link for 25% off his class. If you want to brush up on your drawing skills, or start drawing for the first time, I highly recommend him.
I printed out some of my photos from my trip to Cuba and am starting to draw these as well. It's a great way to go back in time and remember those scenes and feelings of the day.
