Today, I delivered “Up Up and Away” to the Eastside Human Services building on Steele Street in Denver. I was happy to see how it turned out but was anxious to show it to all the other artists who were also delivering their work to the building. I’m totally bummed.
Today I received an email from one of the curators of this exhibit and not only did they tell me I can’t make a piece I wanted to make (Winter) — but they chose a piece I had submitted as a reflection of my work and said “we like Untitled 4″ and we would like you to make something like that.
Here’s exactly what they said:

This weekend, I attended a 3-day workshop given by the Front Range Contemporary Quilters. Our workshop teacher was Cynthia Corbin. Little did I know I would meet another artist who was juried into the Seasonal Palate exhibit! Susie Apte and I talked about our documentation process and we wondered who else was invited to create a piece for this exhibit. I emailed Kathleen McCabe and got a list. Wow. I’m in great company! Here’s the list!

Tonight, I received an email telling me I was one of 38 artists selected to create a piece for “Seasonal Palette” — an art quilt exhibit organized by SAQA and currated by Vicki Mangum and Kathleen McCabe.
