Time is flying by but I’m thinking I can make this very short deadline!
I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had time to blog but several days ago, I started adding the hand work that makes my work have so much texture. I usually do many different stitches but this time, I’m limiting myself to just two — French knots and one I’m just making up to cover the oval spaces by the overlapping circles. Here’s where I’m at.
More and more artists are composing in parts, then hanging them together to create a “whole”. These are called Diptichs or Triptichs in artspeak.

The first thing I needed to do was create my background. This project was too big for my studio so I contacted Susan Brooks to see if I could come dye in her studio. She was on vacation so I couldn’t start immediately but we finally got together on Tuesday, August 16th. After discussing my concept, Susan made a base fabric, dyed gold in a 1/4 strength dye for me to work on.
Her workshop is amazing! [...]
